Okay, this is my first (and probably last) post on here, but I really felt the need to speak out about what's been happening on newgrounds lately. It's becoming more and more prejudiced every day. Now, before I say anything else, I will state that I have Atheist friends as well as an Atheist boyfriend, so my problem is NOT with Atheists--my problem is with Atheists who feel that the only ones who are entitled to their opinions are themselves and other people who think the same way they do. I happen to be Catholic and I have NEVER pushed my beliefs on anyone else (believe it or not, it's true), so I really don't appreciate it when other people try to push theirs on ME.

For some reason, some Atheists think that they are just SO superior and so much smarter than everyone else. These Atheists feel that it is their duty to "enlighten" us poor saps who are foolish enough to keep believing in something. They never bother to consider the possibility that some of us have ALREADY entertained the idea that there is no God before ultimately rejecting it. Most of us do question our beliefs at some point or another, so the fact that Atheists think that their message is so radical and new is nothing short of ridiculous. Really, we laugh at Atheists when they tell us that there's no God and then expect us to have never heard that before or ever thought it ourselves. These know-it-all Atheists never bother to consider that maybe there are actually REASONS why we CHOOSE to keep believing in what we believe in (that is, reasons OTHER than using belief in God as some kind of "crutch"). They just automatically assume that all Christians have been brainwashed and have no ability to think for themselves, but that's NOT what true faith is about. If you only believed in something because somebody told you to believe it, you wouldn't believe it for very long, yet belief in God has persevered for thousands of years. Think about that. Just because YOU don't agree with someone's reasons to believe doesn't make those reasons any less important or any less real to that person. Obviously, that person has experienced something that you simply didn't experience for yourself, and it doesn't mean that the other person is crazy, delusional, lying, or desperately grasping at straws--it just means that they happen to be more of a spiritual person than you. Spirituality is something you can either choose to have or not to have, so if someone else chooses to be spiritual, it's really none of YOUR business, so quit acting like it is. We can do what we want and believe whatever we want just like you can. The point is, we choose for OURSELVES.

Now, with regards to newgrounds, it seems that anything that gets posted on here which bashes God or Jesus or somebody's religion is not only accepted but praised up like some kind of masterpiece while the artists of the few religious films on here are made to feel as if their works have no right to even be here. In particular, I am referring to a flash film someone made about Jesus Christ where all comments that praised the film were ranked as "useless" (including mine) and one person whined about how the Internet was no place to express religious beliefs. This comment has actually been deleted (Thank you, newgrounds staff), but it's funny how someone can say something like that in the first place, because there's obviously a place for the ATHEISTS to exress THEIR beliefs, now, isn't there? I am, of course, referring to the Religion Collection here on newgrounds, where almost all the films in that collection are bashing Jesus Christ, the Bible, Christians, and Roman Catholic ministers. Mind you, if anyone made a similar comment (about how it doesn't belong on the Internet) to any of the anti-religion movies, the Atheists would have a FIELD DAY bitching about how Christians can't tolerate anyone else's views other than their own and how they're so ignorant, etc., etc. Sorry to say, but if there's anyone who can't accept views other than their own, it's an Atheist! I just think that newgrounds should be a place where ALL views can be tolerated, accepted, and expressed. Newgrounds is supposed to be "everything by everyone" and "everyone" includes Christians, so sorry, but Atheistic views are not the only views that should or will be accepted here. I can put up with the anti-religious films, but if any mention of Christianity offends you so much that you have to say that it doesn't belong on the Internet and then start ranking everyone's comments as useless just because they said they liked a religious film, then maybe YOU don't belong on the Internet. You obviously need to get off of newgrounds so that we don't upset your precious sensitivites.

And that's all I'm saying.
